Hi!
I'm in a bar in Berlin where they have free internet access! SUCKERS!!!
So I'm playing it for all it's worth! Berlin is really great. I#m having
a great time. The east is so interesting and I#'m just beginning to understand
exactly what has happened here and what is happening now. This really is
the worlds biggest construction site. I'd love to come back in 10 years
time to see how it has all changed. Poland was nice, bloody cold though!
I think I spent too much time in Warsaw and no where near enough time in
Krackow. Very interesting to see a country that has had a very busy 5 or
more years getting used to a capitalist economy. The evidence of the old
communist regime is still present and the people are still coming to terms
with it I think, for better or worse. I will probably be in Berlin for
another day or two i think, I'm trying to get in touch with a friend in
Heidleburg but she never seems to be home so I don't know if I can go and
visit yet. I'm going to be in Dublin for the 14th to see some Irish friends
graduate, one of them will be in Melbourene before me!! As for me, I still
don't have a return date yet. But here's the strange news for all you back
home, I'm not actually going to tell you when I am coming home. (SHOCK
, HORROR!) I've thought about it a lot and I really want a low key re-entry
into Melbourne life. Sorry, I know some of you won't be too happy about
this, but be assured that I will be call ing you to say HI VERY soon after
I reach home turf! AS usual all coments and criticisims will be gratefully
recieved and carefully noted.
Well back to the hard life! I'll try and get back here to write again soon.

Hi for Berlin I've found my closest thing to a dream hostel. They have an internet link here, hot showers and clean beds!! I'll be writing properly tomorrow so I'll fill you in on Poland then!

Hi just a quick update, I'm in London, staying with suzie and trying to pull my travel plans back together after they were knocked into a tail spin at the end of last week. I came down to london and contacted Louba, my friend in Sofia (Bulgaria), only to find that she was going to be in London at the time I was planning to meet her! That along with finding out that i had missed the canyoning season in Switzerland, and that it was going to cost me BOTH arms and a leg to pay for all of the visas I was thinking about getting (e.g. Bulgarian visa, £36 for the 7 day service, £56 for same day service!) put me in a bad mood last week! So I am completely re-organising my plans and sending my tickets up to Edinburgh to have the dates on them changed! the plan now is to go straight to Bulgaria and see Louba, then move on to Turkey by train, spend 2-3 weeks there and then hit the trail via Greece to Berlin, maybe pop over to Poland if I have time. Then off to Paris on my way through to Ireland. Get that? there will be a test later! So right now all I can do is get organised and wait for thr tickets to come back from up north. (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10........... breathe...) ah that's better...
Any way nothing else exciting to report. How's life in other climes?

Hi there, well, I'm on the move again.
But some how it dosent feel right. I was having a great time in Edinburgh and it seemed a real shame to be leaving.... Not to mention the georgeous Irish girl I was seeing for the last week I was there! So you can understand my mixed feelings at having to leave (my interrail passstarts on Sat.) AAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And now I'm finding out that it might take a week or more to get all of the visas I require! BUMMER! Still I'm sure that once I'm on the road I'll be getting into it and be fine.
I'm not sure what else to say... so I might leave it at that for now. @~#%$£""£**^%£"!££"^*%£&^%!!!!!???!!!
